MMIB – the Master Programme

In a nutshell:

For the academic year 2024/2025 – the July heat of the admission process, there are a total of 75 places, as follows: 25 subsidized places for Romanian and other EU and SEE citizens, 18 fee-paying places for Romanian and other EU and SEE citizens. The rest of the places is for special cases (non-EU, minorities, etc.) For the number of places available for non-SEE students, please check with international@ase.ro

The tuition fee for the two-year programme is 5000 RON per year (approx 1000 EUR per year)  (for EU and SEE citizens) and 3600 Eur per year (for non-EU citizens), payable in two instalments:

For the first year: during the admission process and in February 2025;

For the second year: in October 2025 and in February 2026

  • Step 1: Register for Enrollment – July Session – 18-22 July 2024 (Monday, 22 July only until 4pm)

    To enroll, you need to submit electronically only via admitere.ase.ro the following documents (as easily readable .pdf and/or .jpeg/.jpg):

    • Diploma or equivalent and transcript of Records (Diploma de licenta si foaia matricola / suplimentul la diploma) – scanned original documents  (if Romanian) or original documents and authenticated translations to Romanian (if non Romania). If you are applying for graduate studies, then the Diploma is your Graduate / License Diploma. This document shall not be submitted by graduates of the 2024 undergrad programs of the Bucharest University of Economic Studies (their data is input directly into the system). 
    • The Baccalaureate Diploma and transcript of Records – scanned original documents  (if Romanian) or original documents and authenticated translations to Romanian (if non Romania). If you are applying for a subsidized place and you get accepted, then throughout your studies, your Baccalaureate diploma in original must be with the university. It shall be released with your graduate diploma.
    • Certificate of Equivalence issued by CNRED – only if you are not a graduate of a Romanian undergrad programme. This applies even for Romanian citizens with undergraduate degrees abroad. Prior to registration, send your graduation documents to internationaladmission@ase.ro,  for validation of the grade that shall be used for your admission.
    • Birth certificate – scanned original (if Romanian) or scanned original and authenticated translation to Romanian (if non Romanian);
    • Marriage certificate (if applicable) – scanned original (if Romanian) or scanned original and authenticated translation to Romanian (if non Romanian);
    • Identity card/passport copy – scanned original;
    • Medical certificate;
    • Photo (ID type);
    • Statement regarding prior participation to financed master study programmes – in Romanian (for Romanian students)> Anexa 8 and in English (for non-Romanian students)> Appendix 8. This statement says that you will not be the beneficiary of budget financing, simultaneously, for any two study programmes, regardless of their level, and you will not attend simultaneously more than two study programmes, regardless of their level and financing and you agree to your personal data processing for the admission process. The Statement should be signed by hand and scanned. 
    • Statement by the student  certifying the documents are authentic and the uploaded copies correspond to the original documents – in Romanian (for Romanian students)> Anexa 9. The Statement should be signed by hand and scanned. 
    • English Proficiency Certificate: English Certificates accepted:
      • First Certificate in English (FCE)
      • Certificate in Advanced English (CAE)
      • Certificate of Proficiency in English (CPE)
      • Cambridge English: Vantage (BEC Vantage)
      • Cambridge English: Higher (BEC Higher)
      • International English Language Testing Systems (IELTS): minimum Band 6.0
      • Business Language Testing Service (BULATS): minimum 60
      • TOEFL: minimum 87
    • Proof of registration fee: For graduate studies, for Romanian and SEE candidates the fee is 250 lei, regardless of the number of programs you choose. For non-SEE candidates, the fee is 400 EUR.  You may pay the fee directly from the admitere.ase.ro platform (if you have a Visa, Mastercard or Revolut card) or via bank transfer.
      • Payment via bank transfer details:
        • RO16RNCB0072001607860102 – in LEI, deschis la BCR, cod fiscal 4433775, Academia de Studii Economice din Bucureşti;
        • RO15RNCB0072001607860023 – in EURO, deschis la BCR, SWIFT RNCBROBU, cod fiscal 4433775, Academia de Studii Economice din Bucureşti.
      • The bank transfer shall have the following mandatory elements:Beneficiary> Academia de Studii Economice din Bucureşti Payment details> Taxa de inscriere (Registration fee), Surname/Family name of the candidate, Initial of the father’s name of the candidate, Given name of the candidate, Personal ID (CNP for Romanian citizens or ID provided by ASE for non-Romanian candidates) of the candidate.
      • Keep in mind that the information should be of the candidate, even if payment is from a different person’s account.

    NOTE: For graduate programs, you may apply for one or more programs in the faculty of your choice. That is, if you choose programs from REI-FIBE (as is the case with MMIB), then you cannot apply to programs in other faculties.

    If you are a non-Romanian student, please send the documents prior to registration to internationaladmission@ase.ro, for further guidance. 

    You shall have to input the order of preference for the study programmes – for MMIB: Choose as first option Facultatea de Relatii Economice Internationale (The Faculty of International Business and Economics) and Managementul Afacerilor Internationale – in limba engleza (International Business Management). 

  • Step 2: The English Proficiency Interview – July Session: 24 July 2024.

    The interview is meant to show your ability to follow a programme in English, to understand and transmit concepts and knowledge and it shall be a conversation.

    It is NOT a grammar test.

    All Romanian and SEE candidates who do not have an English Certificate or are not graduates of Bachelor programme in English must attend.

    Please be aware that the Certificate must be uploaded in the Registration phase (18- 22 July 2024). 

    English Certificates accepted:

    • First Certificate in English (FCE)
    • Certificate in Advanced English (CAE)
    • Certificate of Proficiency in English (CPE)
    • Cambridge English: Vantage (BEC Vantage)
    • Cambridge English: Higher (BEC Higher)
    • International English Language Testing Systems (IELTS): minimum Band 6.0
    • Business Language Testing Service (BULATS): minimum 60
    • TOEFL: minimum 87
    • If you are a graduate of a Bachelor programme in English, you are also exempt from this interview. 
  • Step 3: The Exam – July Session: 26 July 2024.

    This consists of 30 multiple-choice questions, with a single correct answer. It lasts for 2 hours.

    The admission of the applicants is based strictly on the admission average grade point – descending ranking of the applicants, correlated with the options expressed at the registration. The minimum average grade required to pass the admission exam is 6,00. The admission average grade point is determined as follows: 60% the Bachelor’s graduation average grade and 40% the grade of the written test. A minimum of 6,00 / 10 is required in order to be admitted.

    Note: The exam takes place on July 26th, 2024 face to face in the ASE campus. Please refer to the admitere.ase.ro for details. 

    If you have applied to a program in English, you shall take the exam in English. If you have applied for a program in Romanian, you shall take the exam in Romanian. If you have applied to both types of programs, then you shall take two exams (one in Romanian and one in English). These exams take place on the same day, at different hours.

  • Step 4: Confirm your Spot – July Session: 29 – 30 July 2024 (Tuesday, 30 July only until 2 pm)

    You can confirm your spot in two different ways, with different timelines:

     1. Confirmation by paying half the tuition fee

    Payment of half of the yearly tuition fee (directly on the admitere.ase.ro platform if you have a Visa, Mastercard or Revolut card) – 2500 lei for Romanian and SEE. 

     2. Confirmation by bringing in the original of your diplomas (baccalaureate – high-school diploma + undergrad diploma, including the transcript)
